How your company can help
Companies and organisations can help YWCA make a real difference to the lives of young women from disadvantaged communities.
By working with YWCA your company can strengthen links with your local community and help young women overcome barriers to employment, raise aspirations and help shape a future workforce.
YWCA works to tackle social and economic disadvantage. A corporate partnership with YWCA will show your commitment to social responsibility to your shareholders, customers and employees, helping you stay competive and profitable. Community investment is more important than ever in the current economic situation.
YWCA, women and work
Our programmes provide young women with support and information about education, skills and employment. We help girls and young women to:
- move into employment, education or training
- learn new skills
- engage in education
- gain experience through volunteering
Our recent campaign called for young women to get the skills they need to work their way off the bottom rung of the career ladder.
For more information read our briefings and information sheets about young women, education, skills and employment or download our latest newsletter and annual review.
Ways we can work together
YWCA will work with your company to help you make a positive impact on your local community.
their stories

Hazel says: "I was expelled from school at 15. I felt like there was nothing else for me to do so I started drinking and taking drugs."
fact

Most of the lowest-paid occupations in the UK are dominated by women
we think

...work perceived traditionally to be 'women's work' is of equal value to other types of work and should be paid accordingly
